Many people have tuned into the news of the recent tornado tragedy in Moore, OK.
Of course, it’s always easier to learn from other people’s mistakes… but few often look at these disasters through the eyes of “what if it were me?”
Even then, there are often “hidden stories” that few people (or even news agencies) pick up on that could be good lessons for us.
In fact, I wonder if any of you picked up on this…
In a collapse of civil order, a riot can break out in any number of scenarios…
- A Natural disaster that causes food shortages
- Political unrest that triggers protests
- Desperate revolt at food/water distribution points
- Looting during a civil breakdown
Of course you can try to avoid these types of scenarios, but the reality is, you may find yourself thrust into any one of them in the strange, uncertain times we’re currently facing and be forced to know how to survive a collapse.
A VIOLENT social uproar can happen any minute due to natural disaster, power outage, or demonstration-gone-bad.
Sure, you may be one of those “preppers” who are fully stocked with ammo, survival seed packs, 27 cases of Spam, and a case of Budweiser.
But there’s one area that unfortunately most people are completely unprepared for…and you need to correct it now!
Here’s the question you must answer…
Are You PHYSICALLY Prepared
For A Crisis?
The best self defense technique against multiple attackers is to not be where the bad guys are.
If you can avoid danger and are aware of your surroundings, you’ll get through life without ever having to bruise a knuckle.
The second best self defense technique against multiple attackers?
When it comes to surviving a real world street fighting — one where you’re surrounded by a group of adrenaline-fueled thugs looking to stomp you into oblivion with their steel-toed workboots — your best option is to run!
That may sound like a whuss move to you, but frankly, it’s most often your best one.
Remember, self defense is NOT about your black-ops assassin bag of tricks to decapitate every hoodlum in sight.
In fact, SURVIVAL is your only goal!
If you can RUN…then do it!
There’s a new wave of crime happening around the world and you need to prepare for it now.
You may have heard of pre-arranged “flash mobs” where invitations to silly events are spread virally through Facebook, Twitter, and text messaging.
The one thing that most Reality Based Self Defense practitioners spend the least amount of time training for is the aftermath of a violent encounter. Yet, this is one of the most important skill sets to cultivate in real world personal protection training. There are several major components to for us to condition ourselves for success in. Each component needs to be actually trained in through live action role playing at first and then through adrenaline stress conditioning scenarios second. Intellectual study alone will not surface.
Being pinned against a wall by multiple attackers is probably one of the all-time worst self defense situations you could find yourself in. Most people who are cornered like this would just cover up the best they can and then start begging for mercy, hoping not to get beaten to death. The situation can look pretty hopeless when you’re facing multiple attackers, so just what sort of self defense techniques could you possibly use to escape? Well, lucky for you, defending yourself in a multi-fight isn’t as hard as you might think.
Perhaps the most important skill set that we can cultivate as Reality Based Self Defense (RBSD) practitioners is the ability to PREVENT violence and danger from coming our way. If violence does come our way though, the next best thing we can do is to ESCAPE the danger and go on to live a long happy life. Escaping actually flies in the face of most conventional martial arts training.
In conventional martial arts training, you’re taught to fully engage your attacker with striking, grappling and/or weaponry until you “win” the fight. In real life “winning” a fight is not what we’re shooting for, it’s all about SURVIVAL. So then, if survival of violence is our overall operational strategy, what tactics are we going to use to accomplish our goal? If you didn’t succeed in preventing the violence, then you have to as quickly as possible escape the violence.
When you think about “self defense”, you probably think about punching and kicking skills… firearms training… edged weapons… etc.
But violence comes in many forms.
